Good Morning Folks! Moisture is slowly creeping back into the region today and this will translate to pop up showers this afternoon and when coupled with a passing front tomorrow, we expect scattered thunderstorms to move through later in the day Friday. Saturday and Sunday both offer up more sun than clouds and the trend is moving toward mostly sunny skies, so be sure soak up the sun this weekend. All eyes are on the Monday forecast as the Eclipse moves overhead during the early afternoon hours and the latest set of models indicate mostly sunny – partly cloudy skies, with showers arriving closer to sunset. This is great news and we will continue to monitor the models as things could change, but the overall pattern is trending in the right direction. Temps today through next week will be at or slightly below normal for this time of the year, with highs in the low – mid 80’s each afternoon, peaking to 86˚F Saturday afternoon across the lower elevations. All in all, the pattern is fairly typical for the middle of August as we deal with showers, sunshine, muggy conditions and then a stretch of lower than normal dewpoints.
Today features passing clouds overhead before midday but this should give way to mostly sunny skies for a few hours, before showers develop around the 3 – 6pm timeframe. Showers will develop across the ridgelines first and then propagate eastward, rolling into the piedmont, so a fairly typical summertime setup. Temps will... click here for more
